My Doctors office is making me mad! Yesterday I needed a refill for my prescription. As usual I called in for this. I was on hold for about 10 minutes so I called back - 3 calls later I got through to someone and within 20 seconds they had my request. They said they'd call me back. I never heard back all day, so I hadto call them again, and guess what, they put me on hold again. Eventually someone told me the refill would be called in to my local pharmacy. I know my Doctor has a busy office, he is a good Doctor, but there must be a better way for me to request something simple like a prescription refill. I was on hold in total for at least 1 hour. This must cost him money too, with people on hold all the time? I have friends who go to other Doctors and they tell me they experience the same thing - and the staff can be very rude sometimes, I guess because they have other people on hold also! Perhaps if Doctor's had email we could email in simple requests, such as for a prescription refill, or to see if test results had arrived. The Doctor could email back to me a confirmation. No more patients on hold! That would be fantastic, wouldn't it. When will Doctors join the modern world of communication?
