Janet
My granddaughter, who is 2 now, was very much the same. The doctors would never give my daughter a diagnosis--said they did not want to label the child until they knew what it was -- always referred to her situation as "low muscle tone". She is behind most children in most every way. As I said, she is now 2, she can crawl, started around 14 months of age, has been pulling up and standing for a couple of months. When she stands, she puts most of her weight on her heels. She was recently seen by a Pediatric Orthopedist in Corpus Christi, TX, and he said she would walk, it was just a question of when. He did order braces for her because he said she was developing some very bad habits --putting the weight on her heels and the insides of her feet. Sarah, my granddaughter,is a delightful girl. She does not talk yet, but she can say more with her expressions than most can with words. She also has been with Easter Seals since since she was 6 months old and receives physical therapy 2x week and speech therapy 1x week. I wish you luck in finding your answers and share in your frustrations of not knowing what you are dealing with. May God be with you.
