I am a 34 yoa w/f diagnosed with parvo in may. How old is your friend's daughter? Age is an issue here. If the daughter is a child, her ailment is treated as "Fifths" Disease. Which I have I have very little knowledge of. As an adult, the joint pain can be treated and helped some by 6 day pack prednisone family medication. I have done this twice and will ask tommorrow for a third treatment. Neurontin, a non-narctic chronic pain medication has also helped some. Though there has has been bad press about Vicadin, it too has helped me at times of severe joint pain. As for the fatigue...I just have to go with it. I've even been to the Mayo clinic. They educated me in the fact that my symptoms can go on for over a year and can trigger arthritis. She needs to be seen by a rheumatologist, preferably one recommended by the Arthitis Foudation. I may be going out on a limb here, but honestly, if she's in a ton of pain the vicadin can at least work as go between before the prednisone kicks in. Feeling like a 34 year old in an 84 year olds body isn't fair. To hell with pain...do what ya gotta do!! Good luck to all of you and God Bless
