Raena
I have had two operations, C56,C67. One they went thru the front of the neck and the other(the last one)thru the back of the neck. I chose to use the cadaver bone because so many people I have met have severe pain in the hip where some of them never get over it. There was 10 years between my operations. I had very little discomfort when they went thru the front of my neck, however, I am considered a medical mystery because they feel as though the fusion failed over seven to nine years before the second operation. The second operation has left me in chronic pain. I am wired and pinned and the levels above and below the fusion are now failing. Two surgeons have told me they would not operate on me (not that I would let them) again that my neck would continue to fail with each fusion the way it has now until I would have no movement. This would continue down my spine. I pray this will give you some information so that you are armed with the knowledge to ask other questions and to make a knowledgable choice.I personally wouldn't have started with this if my discs weren't into the spinal cord and causing paralysis. Please feel free to contact me as I feel prone to helping anyone in this situation. Good luck to you.
