Hi-I can totally relate to how your feeling and I'm so sorry for you. I had my first attack back in September 2000. I was at a meeting and the vertigo came on so suddenly and would not go away. I went to the hospital and they gave me something via IV and the vertigo subsided. The ER doctor told me it was "peripheral vertigo" and gave me a script for meclazine. I never got it filled & thought it just a fluke. Then I had another attack a few months ago. I went to see my primary doctor this time and that's when I got diagnosed with Meniere's. It seemed so matter of fact and as I learned more I got really scared. I'm not sure if it is in one ear or both. I'm trying to build up the courage to see an ENT. I know that my hearing is different in the left ear (more sensitive to noise). The attacks left me so helpless and being an active professional plus a mother of 3 (2 are two year old twins), I can't be down for very long. I would love to continue to talk to you and provide whatever support I can. I've gotten some info sent to me and will share if you are interested. Good luck with your doctor appt and let me know how you do. Michelle
