In February, my husband had cellulitis on left leg - rash and edema suddenly appeared with fever and began spreading swiftly. Because of a state-wide sensitivity to meningitis, we wasted no time in going to the doctor. Azithromycin was the oral drug of the doctor's choice - 1 week later, the condition began slowly receding. It took well over a month for his leg to return to normal. We also used warm packs and therapeutic grade essential oils to relieve the itching etc. from the edema. Nothing to fool around with. He also used a cane to steady an aching leg.
