Hello, I have a ganglion cyst on the inside of my right wrist. It first appeared last year in February and I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon by my chiropractor. The surgeon drained the cyst with a needle and it returned two weeks later. There wasn't any pain when it returned, however, so I just put up with it for another year till it started becoming bothersome again. The pain was too much, so I went back to the orthopedic surgeon in February and he recommended surgery to remove the cyst. I had surgery the end of February and when the stitches were removed a week later, it looked to me like the cyst was already back. The doctor said not to worry that it was probably just post-operative swelling and would go away. I had my follow-up last week and the doctor is almost certain that the cyst has returned. He suggested we give it another six weeks to see if it might just be some scar tissue and go from there. Has anyone else had this happen? It is just a painful and looks the same, only bigger, as before, so I don't think it is scar tissue. Any suggestions? Thank you.
