As a teacher myself, I have seen children who have been "labeled" as behavior problems despite their good grades. My son is gifted academically and a darling sweet child. He can't control his actions and often he scares me when not looking for cars or listening to my danger warnings of running out in a street. He is 4 and is soon expected to be a student in a learning environment. I do not want him to be disruptive to other children who are entitled to an education. I tried herbal medicines, diet change, and finally Ritlin. I have found that my lil guy is mellow and responsive to directions for a 3 hr. period. When it wears off he really CRASHES! He is mean, mouthy and destructive. I do not know very much of Adderal but am wondering if it is better than Ritlin. My son can't fall asleep at night until 12 or 1 once the meds wear off. There has to be an alternative to this drug Ritlin.
